OpenPGP is a way of electronically signing and, optionally, encrypting email. It lets other people ensure that the email you send really is from you and that no one has tampered with it en-route.

Registering your public OpenPGP key(s) with Launchpad gives you access to the bug tracker's email interface and allows you to sign the Ubuntu Code of Conduct.
