By default, Launchpad hides your email address from spambots, search engine spiders and anyone else that isn't logged into Launchpad. Your email address is visible only to other people who are logged into Launchpad.

As Launchpad already protects your email address from anonymous users, you should only hide your email address if you're absolutely sure you also want to hide your email address from all logged-in Launchpad users. This will make it harder for people to collaborate with you and may cause some team administrators to reject your membership requests as they won't be able to contact you with team membership requirements.
