Step by step guide

Step 1: Visit [https://www.launchpad.net www.launchpad.net] in your web browser.

Step 2: Click Log In / Register in the top right corner of the Launchpad home page.

Step 3: In the Not registered yet? section, enter your email address in the E-mail address text-box, then click the Register button.

If your email address is registered to a dormant Launchpad account, to credit your contributions to a project, read our guide ["Claiming your Launchpad account"] to continue.

Step 4: Within a few minutes, you'll receive an email from Launchpad with the subject line "Finish your Launchpad registration". To continue your registration, click the link in the body of the email.

This will open the Complete your registration page in your web browser.

Step 5: You can choose the name that other Launchpad users see when they view your profile and contributions. Enter your preferred name in the Display name text-box.

Step 6: To hide your registered email addresses from other Launchpad users, select the Hide my email addresses from other Launchpad users check-box.

Step 7: Enter then confirm the password you want to use with your Launchpad account. Click Continue when you are ready.

Once your new account has been created, it will be confirmed at the top of the page.
